The commercial version of the low-cost Aakash 2 tablet – Ubislate 7Ci is now available for purchase from Datawind’s official website for Rs 4,299. Ubislate 7Ci is the WiFi-only version of the tablet. Aakash 2 to get Ice Cream Sandwich and hardware update

The much-anticipated low-cost tablet Aakash (Ubislate) is getting a hardware upgrade and will also get Ice Cream Sandwich update. The new tablet has been named Aakash 2 or Ubislate 7+. Aakash 2 will have a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch screen, a single-core 800MHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor replacing the slower 366MHz processor in the original Aakash tablet.
