Android 4.3 update now rolling for Sony Xperia Z series of devices

Sony has announced that they are now rolling the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for their Xperia Z series of Android phones. The Android 4.3 update started rolling out first for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra, and later was also released for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z.

Android 4.3 update for Sony Xperia Z series devices

Collectively, all Xperia Z series devices receive the below listed features and enhancements.

  • Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, bring Project Butter performance, UI optimization and smoother graphical experience
  • Added Sony’s Smart Social Camera to all Xperia Z devices. Now access Xperia Camera apps directly from the viewfinder
  • Uplifting of Sony’s entire native app portfolio to latest version – Messaging, My Xperia, Smart Connect, Small apps, TrackID, Sony Select
  • Cloud Integration of Sony’s Media apps (WALKMAN, Album and Movies) with Sony Entertainment Network cloud service
  • Launch of new Xperia Themes with downloadable UI packs from Sony Select
  • Android Security enhancements matched with Sony’ mobile enterprise solution, Xperia for Business

In addition to there, Android 4.3 update also brings a new update of Battery STAMINA Mode with refreshed interface and more smart options for longer battery life. With this new update Xperia Tablet Z gets increased user control with Restricted Profiles.

The Android 4.3 update is now rolling over-the-air for these Xperia Z devices. If you own one of these devices, then you will receive a notification for a new update on your Xperia device. The update availability will vary for individual carriers and markets.
