After a series of leaks and rumors BlackBerry has finally announced their BlackBerry Z30 smartphone featuring 5″ display and BlackBerry 10.2 OS. BlackBerry Z30 is successor to BlackBerry Z10 smartphone, the first handset running BlackBerry 10 OS.

BlackBerry Z30 runs version 10.2 of BlackBerry 10 mobile OS which includes many improvements and some new features. Some of the key features in BlackBerry Z30 are as listed below.

  • BlackBerry Priority Hub: We already know about the BlackBerry Hub, but BlackBerry Z30 has new BlackBerry Priority Hub that learns what conversations and contacts are important to you and then allows you easy and fast access to those important conversations, emails, messages on social networks and other accounts.
  • Improved BBM: New improved BBM in BlackBerry Z30 allows you to preview BBM messages as it arrives without exiting the currently running app. You can then tap to view the complete message or dismiss. You can also respond to BBM messages without leaving the app running on your device.
  • Stereo Audio and BlackBerry Natural Sound: BlackBerry Z30 has stereo sound that enhances sound in music and videos delivering real life experience. BlackBerry Natural Sound makes BBM Audio and BBM Video chats sound like more natural and real.
  • New Antenna Technology: The BlackBerry’s New Antenna Technology dynamically improves reception to offer better connectivity even in low signal areas. BlackBerry Z30 comes equipped with BlackBerry Paratek Antenna that delivers high data transfers rates and reduces call drops in low-signal areas.
  • Longer Battery Life: The battery enhancements in version 10.2 of BlackBerry 10 OS can offer up to 25 hours of battery backup on BlackBerry Z30 smartphone. BlackBerry Z30 is equipped with a 2,880 mAh battery.

BlackBerry Z30 smartphones features a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED Display with pixel density of 295 ppi. The handset is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Adreno 320 GPU graphics unit. The handset supports dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. It comes with 16GB internal storage and a microSD storage for extra storage space. BlackBerry Z30 features an 8-megapixel camera on the rear with f/2.2 wide aperture and is capable of recording 1080p videos. It is also equipped with a 2-megapixel shooter on the front capable of recording 720p videos.

BlackBerry Z30 will be released initially in UK and Middle East next week, while other global markets will get the handset later this year. Pricing and availability will be announced by individual carriers and markets at the time of launch.
