Sony announces Xperia Z1, the largest sensor camera phone yet

Sony has unveiled their new flagship Xperia smartphone – Xperia Z1 yesterday at their event at IFA 2013 in Berlin. Sony Xperia Z1 features the largest image sensor yet with amazing camera apps. Not only the device has amazing camera but also has great specs and loaded with lots of entertainment goodies.

Xperia Z1 features Sony’s award-winning G Lens with 27mm wide-angle, f/2.0 aperture and custom-made 20.7-megapixel large 1/2.3-type CMOS Exmor RS sensor for mobile and a BIONZ for image processing engine. Xperia Z1 is capable of capturing bright and sharp images even in low-light conditions. The camera of Xperia Z1 has high shutter speeds and 3x clear image zoom so you can zoom (3x) in to objects without causing any blur in your photos.

The camera features of Xperia Z1 is coupled with the Xperia Camera Applications. Social Live feature allows users to broadcast your previous content live to Facebook and get comments right on your screen. Info-eye feature searches related information on landmarks and items by simply capturing them with the camera. Timeshift burst feature takes 61 photos in two seconds giving you option to look out for the perfect capture among them. AR effect allows you to customize your photos with animations using Sony’s SmartAR augmented reality technology. Sony also announced that there are developer partners who are currently working on Xperia Camera Applications and more other apps that will be available later from Sony Select recommendation store after launch.

Sony Xperia Z1 features a 5-inch Full HD Triluminos Display for mobile with X-Reality for mobile picture engine. The Triluminos Display helps deliver rich vibrant natural colors while X-Reality technology helps deliver optimized super sharp videos by analyzing each image. The handset also features Sony’s ClearAudio+ that automatically optimizes audio without the need to go to individual settings.

Xperia Z1 is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and supports 4G LTE. It comes with 2GB RAM along with 16GB internal storage and microSD slot for extra storage of up to 64GB. The device runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean mobile operation system. It is equipped with 3,000 mAh battery to long-lasting operation, optimizable to last longer with Sony’s Battery STAMINA Mode that automatically turns off functions to save battery. Xperia Z1 sports the amazing OmniBalance design with premium materials and is dust and water-resistant with ratings of IP55 and IP58.

Xperia Z1 comes loaded with many entertainment features including WALKMAN and Movies app. You can access 22 million songs on WALKMAN app through Music Unlimited service, free for 2 months. You also get access to 150K movies on Movies app through Video Unlimited service, free five movies and exclusive movie access pass to digital release of blockbuster Elysium. Xperia Z1 also integrates PlayMemories Online which is a cloud-based image and video service integrated into the Album app. All Sync feature allows all photos to auto-upload to PlayMemories Online without any storage limitations. Xperia Z1 will be available in White, Black and Purple colors.
