As expected Samsung unveiled their third generation of Galaxy Note smartphone – Galaxy Note 3 at their Unpacked 2013 Episode 2 event in Berlin yesterday. The Galaxy Note 3 does not have much of the differences in the looks as we were expecting, but it does have improvements in S Pen and other features that makes your Galaxy Note smartphone experience better than the previous generation of Galaxy Note smartphone.
We told you earlier that the Galaxy Note 3 might happen to have a flexible display, but after the unveiling it turned out that Galaxy Note 3 sports a Full HD Super AMOLED Display measuring 5.7-inches diagonally. Replacing the plastic back cover of the previous generation Galaxy Note phones, Galaxy Note 3 comes with soft and textured-touch back cover with delicate stitching on the edges. The handset will be available in Jet Black, Classic White and Blush Pink colors, there will also be a number of colorful back covers that you can swap with the cover that comes with the device.
What you will find new is improvements in the S Pen features. The new S Pen of Galaxy Note 3 is designed to be fully functional to communicate with your device with many input and control features. A click of the S Pen button while hovering over the screen will launch Air Command that allows you to communicate or operate your phone without even looking out for anything in the menus. Air Command is a palette of five powerful features to achieve your tasks with ease. These five features include Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write, S Finder, Pen Window. These features will be discussed about in a separate post. The S Note app is also improved to offer user-friendly interface and the Easy Chart feature. It can now be synced with Evernote or your Samsung account and can be accessed from different devices. The improved Easy Clip feature lets you draw roughly around an object on the screen which is converted to a precisely cropped image.
Galaxy Note 3 also introduces My Magazine feature that offers personalized news, social media and entertainment. The feature is developed in partnership with Flipboard. Galaxy Note 3 also brings new Multi Window feature where you can also run same app separately in two different windows. There is also a Drag and Drop feature that gives you ability to drag any image or text from one window to another. Pen Window is a new multitasking feature that allows you to draw a custom window on the screen and run an app within that window. We don’t know yet how many you can run simultaneously in a single window.
