Today today unveiled their new Galaxy Mega series of smartphones that will have large display for that extensive viewing experience. The Galaxy Mega series debuts with the Galaxy Mega 6.3 and 5.8 featuring 6.3 and 5.8 inches screen respectively. Samsung has introduced Galaxy Mega series keeping in mind that the devices will serve the purpose of a more portable tablet while having all the functionality of a smartphone. The devices are kept at the size that will be comfortable to hold with one hand.
Galaxy Mega will be ideal for watching videos or movies, web browsing, playing games and also for multi-tasking. There are various intuitive features loaded in Galaxy Mega that are trade mark of Samsung, including Group Play to share content with up to 8 devices on same WiFi network, S Translator to text or speak anything and have it translated to other language, Samsung Link to stream you photos, videos and docs to your tablet or computer, WatchON to convert your phone to a remote control and a TV guide, ChatON to connect with your friends online.
Galaxy Mega also features some of the other recent features Samsung introduced with Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S 4, like the Split-screen for multitasking, Air View, MyFiles, S Memo, S Planner, Drama Shot, Sound & Shot, Rich Tone (HDR), S Travel, Story Album and much more. Both the Galaxy Mega devices features 8-megapixel camera on the rear and a 1.9-megapixel up on front. Lets give a bit of information on the technical specifications of these two devices.
Galaxy Mega 6.3 sports a 6.3-inch HD TFT display. It is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core application processor, 1.5 MB RAM and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The device comes with 8/16GB internal storage along with microSD slot for external storage of up to 64GB to house you collection of music and videos and is equipped with 3,200mAh battery to last all day long.
Compared to Galaxy Mega 6.3, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 featurs a 5.8-inch qHD TFT display. It is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core application processor but has the same 1.5GB RAM and same version of Android mobile OS. It is equipped with 2,600mAh battery. Both the devices also have standard features of WiFi, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, GPS+GLONASS and LTE, Galaxy Mega 6.3 in addition also features NFC and MHL.
Samsung has announced that these Galaxy Mega devices will initially be rolled out to European countries and Russia in May, followed by the global releases.
