AT&T has started rolling out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for their LG Optimus G smartphone, which is now available over-the-air for the handset users. AT&T made the announcement of the roll-out on April 4th on their Consumer Blog.
The Jelly Bean update for Optimus G brings changes to the notifications panel that will now group together all notifications from same application at one place. Users can also respond to messages, emails right from the notifications panel. Notification panel now also previews images in an MMS or screenshots.
Jelly Bean also brings data usage calculator which allows users to limit their monthly data usage. Users will now also get the Isis Mobile Wallet on their Optimus G smartphone which is a virtual payment platform. Users can go to AT&T stores in Austin and Salt Lake City to get the special sim card and download the app. The Isis Mobile Wallet is currently on trial in Austin and Salt Lake City.
In addition to all this users will also get the NCAA March Madness app that gives users access to watch NCAA games throughout the tournament. Users can get a preview as a bonus to watch four hours of live games on your Optimus G smartphone.
To get the Jelly Bean update for Optimus G on AT&T, users are required to connect to WiFi then go to Setting > About phone > Software updates > Update now. Follow the prompts that will appear on the screen and the latest Jelly Bean version of Android for Optimus G will be running in a while.
