Sony last week has announced on their Xperia Product Blog about the arrival of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Xperia T, V and TX. The update is rolling for the Xperia T and Xperia V, but the Xperia TX is expected to receive the update beginning next month.
Users will receive a notification about the update, you can then download the update and install it over-the-air. Sony says that in some instances you will need to connect your Xperia T or V phone to a PC or Mac and get the update via PC Companion or Bridge for Mac. The availability of the update will vary depending on the market and the model variant of the devices.
The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update brings along the goodness of the Jelly Bean version of Android mobile OS including resizable widgets, improved notifications panel, Google Now, improved Google Search and Voice Search. It also brings along new versions of Sony Media apps including Walkman, Album and Movies.
Some users of Xperia T who have already got the update are reporting a major issue of battery drainage. In some instances there is also issues like Walkman widget not working properly, phone switching off and prompting unsupported file format for microSD.
If there are issues Sony will definitely work on the fix and will be rolling it out soon. Have you got the Jelly Bean update for your Xperia T and Xperia V? Do let us know about any issues you are facing in comments below.
