Samsung unveils Galaxy Express and rugged Galaxy Xcover 2 phones

Samsung yesterday unveiled two new additions to their Galaxy lineup of smartphone, Galaxy Express and Galaxy Xcover 2. Galaxy Express is a feature-rich multimedia 4G LTE smartphone while Galaxy Xcover 2 is a durable smartphone ideal for active explorers. Lets talk about both the smartphones individually.

Galaxy Express as Samsung says is a feature-rich multimedia 4G LTE smartphone, specifically designed for those who like to stream or download music and videos on their smartphone. The phone is 4G LTE-enabled, so users can enjoy high-speed web-surfing and entertainment on the go.

Galaxy Express has a 4.5-inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It comes pre-loaded with Samsung Apps, Samsung Hub, ChatOn mobile communication service and standard Google services like Google Search, Maps, YouTube, Talk, Play Store and more.

The handset features 5-megapixel camera on the back with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with 8GB on-board storage along with a microSD slot for external storage of up to 32GB. Galaxy Express allows users to share music and videos to other handset using NFC-enabled S Beam service. With AllShare Play users can share content remotely to other devices like Samsung Smart TV and Smart mobile devices. It also supports standard features of Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, WiFi and GPS with GLONASS.

Next, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 is a durable smartphone specifically designed for those who seek durability in their smartphone. Being dust, sand and water-resistant, the phone is capable of enduring rigid outdoor conditions. The phone can survive for up to 30 minutes when submerged in water at the depth of one meter. Galaxy Xcover 2 comes pre-loaded with Cardio Tainer Pro that helps tailor your own training program and achieve your fitness goals.

Specs-wise Galaxy Xcover 2 has a 4.0-inch WVGA TFT display. It is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, 1GB RAM and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Samsung TouchWiz and Motion UI. The phone also has features like Smart Stay, Best Shot, S Voice and also supports S Cloud.

Xcover 2 features a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and a front-facing VGA camera. Xcover 2 has a dedicated camera key on the side to launch the camera directly. You can also shoot photos under water but only up to depth of 1 meter. It comes pre-loaded with Samsung Apps, Samsung Hub, AllShare Play, ChatOn and the standard Google apps and services. It also has standard features of Bluetooth, WiFi, A-GPS with GLONASS and USB 2.0. It has 4GB internal storage and external storage of up to 32GB via microSD.
