LG Optimus G Pro announced with 1080p display and quad-core CPU

LG Optimus G Pro

After a leaked photo of the LG Optimus G Pro, the handset is now unveiled by the Japan-based carrier NTT DoCoMo. NTT DoCoMo announced in a press release that they will launch 11 smartphones this year, including LG Optimus G Pro. The device has not been announced separately by LG though, so we don’t know yet if this handset will be available for other global markets. I believe it will be, as the handset has such high specs that LG will show the world their ability to design quality high-end smartphones.

Original LG Optimus G was launched last year in several big markets and has succeeded to make consumers brag about it. Now I hope that Optimus G Pro will do better if launched to other global markets. LG Optimus G has a 5-inch 1080p HD IPS display, just like every like every other new handset we are seeing these days sporting a large 5-inched display. It is powered by 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

It features a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 2.4-megapixel front-facing. It is also LTE-enabled and is capable of providing 112Mbps speeds on NTT DoCoMo. Other specs includes 2GB RAM, 32GB on-board storage, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, microSD slot and a 3,000mAh battery. The handset has everything a high-spec’d smartphone should have and therefore is capable of competing with leading smartphones in the market.

NTT DoCoMo has plans to release Optimus G Pro in April 2013. It will be available in Indigo Black and Platinum White. What do you think about the LG Optimus G Pro smartphone? Share your opinions in comments below.
