AT&T on October 9th has started rolling out Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for their Motorola ATRIX 2 smartphone. The update brings the features introduced in the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android mobile OS, like the Face Unlock, along with some other new features like direct access to camera, text messages, dialer, home screen or face unlock. This update also replaces the old ATRIX 2 contacts app with the new People app, that lets you have all the information and updates of any contact at a single location.
The update is rolling out to all the ATRIX 2 users on AT&T, they will receive a notification about the update. Download the update and tap “Install Now” to start installing the new update for your ATRIX 2 smartphone, your phone will restart and will come up with a new version of Android. If you do not receive the notification for the update, then you can go to Settings > About phone > System update, and try installing it manually.
