Archos has announced on July 5th their new line of Android tablets with the name of Elements. The Elements lineup of Archos tablets comprises of a 7, 8 and 9.7-inch entry-level tablets. The first tablet among the Elements line that is going to be available in the UK in July is the 9.7-inch Archos 97 Carbon tablet.

The Archos 97 Carbon sports a 9.7-inch IPS multi-touch display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. It is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor, 1GB RAM and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing VGA camera. The tablet supports HD 1080p video playback, supports WiFi, microUSB, HDMI output and microSD slot for external storage of up to 32GB. It comes with an internal storage of 16GB.

Archos 97 Carbon will be available later this month in UK for £219.99. The tablet might not claim a share in the market as Nexus 7 has already been launched offering better hardware specs and less price of £199 for 16GB version. Read the full press release here.
