The Sony Xperia Go is finally poised to go on sale, months after it was first announced. The phone includes scratch resistant glass and IP67 rated dust and water protection. The Xperia Go runs a dual-core 1 GHz processor, has 512 MB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, a 3.5″ HVGA display and a five megapixel camera. It’s powered by a 1350 mAh battery and runs Gingerbread, somehow – although, as always there’s a promised upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich before the heat death of the universe.
The dual-core, ruggedised phone is being offered sim-free from a number of retailers, including Clove, Unlocked-Mobiles, Play.com and Expansys. The phone goes to be going for around £225 depending on the retailer, and generally the Black variant is easier to get hold of than the White and Yellow varieties. As well as the sim-free phone itself, retailers are also starting to stock Sony Xperia Go accessories, such as cases, covers, screen protectors and the like.
