Nokia Lumia 800 and 710 gets new features and apps via Windows Phone 7.5 update

Nokia announced yesterday on their Conversations Blog that a new software update has started rolling out for Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 that brings new features and apps to the two Lumia phones.

The update will enable your phone to turn into a WiFi hotspot, you will be able to share your mobile data connection over WiFi to up to five devices. It will also bring the flip-to-silence feature that will silence incoming calls and alerts once you turn your phone face down.

After the software update, you can download some new Nokia apps from Windows Phone Marketplace in July to your Lumia 800 or Lumia 710. Camera Extras is one of the new apps which increases your device’s camera capabilities. Camera Extras brings some of the new options for shooting.

Smart Group Shot takes five shots in a single press of the button to allow you to select the best shot. Action Shot takes stunning photos of movement and action in burst mode. Panorama allows you to take wide landscape photos with precision alignment.

The software update also brings Contact Share that enables you to send or receive Business Cards via SMS. Play To app which allows you to share photos, videos and music to any DLNA enable device. All the apps will be available once you install Windows Phone 7.5 update to your Lumia 800 and Lumia 710.

Windows Phone 7.5 software update will be available in June and July months while the apps will start rolling out globally in late July. To get the update connect your phone to a PC via USB cable and run Zune software on Windows and Windows Phone 7 Connector on Mac.
