Ice Cream Sandwich update for Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S II delayed

Vodafone has announced a couple of days back that they will roll-out the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy S II users on their network on April 12th, but at the last moment Vodafone told Pocket-lint that the update has been delayed until tomorrow, April 13th.

Vodafone blamed Samsung saying that Samsung told them they would be unable to make the update available as planned. Now Samsung will roll-out the update tomorrow, April 13th via Kies and over-the-air update will roll-out on April 17th.

When it comes to Android updates we are constantly seeing delays. Nexus S saw a huge delay for ICS update, Galaxy Note ICS update has been slipped to Q2, Galaxy S II so far received ICS update only on Three and O2 in UK and some other parts of Europe. Orange, T-Mobile and Samsung yet remains to roll-out the update and there is no date set officially yet by any of them.

Any news on Ice Cream Sandwich for the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T)? Just got the phone and eager to try ICS out. Thanks!

There isn’t even a word yet from Samsung whether Galaxy S II Skyrocket (AT&T) will get the Ice Cream Sandwich update. But there is a leaked ICS update available that is an official build for Galaxy S II Skyrocket and is fully functional.
