Sprint announces HTC EVO 4G LTE, to launch in Q2 for $199.99

HTC and Sprint on Wednesday announced HTC EVO 4G LTE at a press conference in New York City. HTC EVO 4G LTE will be available in second quarter of this year for $199.99. Pre-orders for the phone will begin May 7 at www.sprint.com. The availability date will be announced later for which you can sign up for the updates at www.sprint.com/evo4glte.

HTC EVO 4G LTE sports a 4.7-inch HD display and is powered by 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich mobile operating system integrated with HTC Sense 4.0. It features an 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, NFC, 4G LTE and microsSD. EVO 4G LTE is Sprint’s first to incorporate Beats Audio.

EVO 4G LTE also has HD voice capabilities. With EVO 4G LTE’s announcement Sprint has become the first US carrier to incorporate HD Voice, although the services are not yet enabled. Sprint’s nation-wide HD Voice network will be enabled later this year. HD Voice provides natural-sounding and high quality voice, and also reduces troublesome background voices.
