The images of a mysterious phone have surfaced which is believed to be Sony Ericsson MT37i ‘Pepper’. The phone is believed to be the successor to Xperia neo V powered by a 1GHz dual-core ST-Ericsson NoveThor U8500 chipset processor with a 3.7-inch display and 8-megapixel camera that can shoot 720p video.
The handset has three capacitive back, home and menu buttons with LED notification light on top and front-facing camera alongside the notification LED. The rear camera is surrounded by embossed plastic ring with a small LED flash on top of the ring.
In 2011, Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Arc and Xperia neo were too close in terms of features, the possible reason for the discontinuation of Xperia neo with 8-megapixel Exmor R camera. Now Sony Ericsson is expected to employ greater differentiation between phones it will launch this year. It’s still not sure if the Sony Ericsson MT27i ‘Pepper’ will be announced in CES 2012.
